OVERVIEW: 
This  9 days 8 nights itinerary will take you to the secret destinations in Sumba. It is a relax pace trip that it is suitable for honeymooners or small group of friends.  Secluded beaches, chasing waterfalls, relaxing at beaches, learning about traditional textile process, observing local life and architecture, and also learn about Marapu belief of Sumba tribe. Sumba the world’s secret destination, we can not wait to share with you. 

 

DAY 1:ARRIVAL WAINGAPU SUMBA – HOTEL (L,D)
Upon arrival at Waingapu Airport , you will meet with guide and driver.  And transfer to hotel.
Visit Tanggedu Waterfall which can be reached by 30 minutes soft trekking through valleys and villages. Sometimes you can see locals working in farm or harvesting crops. Tenggedu Waterfall is a cascade with pool, a dramatic place to enjoy and to take photograph. Return to Waingapu and visit fish market which starts late afternoon. You can even try to taste the grilled fish or squid.

DAY 2:WAINGAPU-MATAWAI-PRAILIU-WALAKIRI-WERA (B,L,D)
After breakfast and then check out and drive to Wera Beach. En-route you will be stopping by at Matawai where you can stroll along market to browse for fruits, salts, spices, vegetable, Sumba ikat weavings and local jewelries’. You can also observe the shopping activity of the locals.
Proceed to Prailiu Hamlet, where you can learn more about local belief called Marapu, local tradition and as well learn about ikat weaving making process.
Visit Walakiri Beach which has fascinating white sand, crystal clear blue water and its dancing mangrove trees. Drive to approximately 20 minutes to Wera Beach and stay overnight at resort there.

DAY 3: FREE LEISURE (B)
Today you will have free leisure at the beach resort.

DAY 4: WAIMARANG WATERFALL- RENDE HAMLET (B,L,D)
After breakfast, drive to Waimarang Waterfall, a slide waterfall which streams to a turquoise pool surrounded by impressive rock formations. Afterwards visit Rende Hamlet, where you can observe traditional houses and also learn the phases of making traditional ikat weaving which has been preserved from generation to generation. You can even purchase ikat weaving as souvenir to bring home.

DAY 5: WERA-LAPOPU WATERFALL-PRAIJING HAMLET-WAIKABUKAK (B,L,D)
After breakfast and then check out. And drive to Lapopu Waterfall, which can be reached by 10 minutes walk and crossing bridge of bamboo. The waterfall is a fan type waterfall which cascades to a pool where you could  rejuvenate in its turquoise pool water and the surrounding is refreshing as it has luscious green landscape.
continue to  Praijing  Hamlet, where the thatched roofed Sumba houses surrounded by lush emerald green forest are just the highlight of your trip to Sumba. Getting closer to the village you will discover megalithic tomb in front of the houses.

DAY 6: FREE LEISURE  (B)
Today is a free leisure at hotel and you can explore and discover the beach

DAY 7: REDISCOVER WEST SUMBA BEACHES (B,L,D)
After breakfast and then drive to Kerewei Beach which is popular among world’s surfer where you can enjoy the white sands and play with the blue water and the panoramic rock formations. 
Proceed to Watu Bela Beach by passing over traditional village, the exotic coconut trees to arrive at this another beautiful white sandy shore which is encircled by cliff formations.
Marosi Beach is a hidden gem, secluded beach that you can discover. White sand and crystal clear blue water with an atoll nearby the shore is like a piece of paradise.

DAY 8: WAIKABUKAK-RATENGGARO HAMLET -PERO BEACH-WAIKURI LAGOON-TAMBOLAKA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, check out and then drive to view point to respect the scenic panorama of Bawana Beach and Watu Malandong Beach. 
Proceed to Ratenggaro Hamlet to observe and explore this stunning traditional village situated nearby the shore and and rich of megalithic tombs. You can browse authentic souvenirs here.
Pero Beach is you next destination, which is mix of white-sand and reef beach. Sometimes you can find goats and buffaloes roam around the beach. 
Drive further to Waikuri Lagoon, a salt pool divided by cliff  that it has no waves and the water is just crystal and the surrounding is picturesque. 
Overnight: TAMBOLAKA 

DAY 9: TRANSFER OUT  (B)
Free leisure until transfer to Tambolaka Airport. End of service.
