East Java is not so well known for its temple, unlike Central Java or Yogyakarta for its temple. However, actually East Java is rich of historical remains from the past, since before Singhasari Kingdom until Majapahit Kingdom period. This tour will take you to some sites located on the slope of Mount Penanggungan and beyond.
Day 1: Surabaya-Trowulan-Seloliman (Lunch, Dinner)
Pick up at Airport or hotel in Surabaya in the Morning and drive to Trowulan Site and visit: Trowulan Temple Site: Brahu Temple, Tikus Temple, Bajang Ratu Temple, Segaran Pool. Afterwards drive to Jedong temple , gates temple decorated with kala above the entrance and made of andesit stone. And then proceed to Belahan Temple, or known as spring temple with its beautiful relief of Laksmi and Dewi Sri and the water came out from the breasts of Laksmi. Walk few hundreds meters where you can see the rice terrace. Drive to Seloliman. Check in hotel PPLH Seloliman.
Day 2: Seloliman-Candi Jedong-Surabaya (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast then enjoy cycling through rice fields and enjoy the rice terraces and view of Mt Penanggungan and Mt Arjuna and Mount Welirang. And then soak your self at Jalatunda Spring Temple to refresh. Jalatunda Spring Temple was built in the period of King Udayana from Bali, in the 9th Century, the water is known as one of the best quality in the world and believed to have a healing virtue. Return to hotel and check out. Drive to Punthuk Truno Waterfall and then stop by at Jawi Temple. Proceed to Gempol, visit Pari Temple, which was built in the 14th Century. It was named as Pari (rice paddy), because in the past it was a producer of rice which can be still until today, the area has rice fields. And then walk about 300 meters to Sumur Temple, a temple with a well in the middle of the building. Return to Surabaya. ETA Surabaya 18.00.
