Camp Site at Candi Lurah
Mount Penanggungan or also known as Mount Pawitra is not as high as Mount Semeru, yet this mountain is indeed very unique. This 1653 high mountain is surrounded by 4 lower peaks, Mount Bekel, Mount Gajahmungkur and Mount, Mount Sarahklopo and Mount Kemuncup. Mount Penanggungan is suitable for beginner, or if climber interested as well in the historical sites. Along the climbing route you will be passing some temples and archaeological remnants from the 9th to 15th Century.

Itinerary
Day 01: Surabaya-Mbiting Village, Seloliman-Camping Site (Lunch, Dinner)
Pick up at hotel or airport of Surabaya, and then drive about 2 hours to Mbiting Village located on slope of Mount Penanggungan.
-Lunch at basecamp in Mbiting village, with local menus.
-From basecamp drive 20 minutes to Kedung Udi village.Then start trekking about 2-3 hours. On the way visit Carik temple.
-Arrive at Lurah temple,the campsite. Tea and biscuits are provided. At this place you will see beautiful views of mt Bekel and Mt Welirang. Sun set can be seen if there is good weather.
-Dinner serves at 7pm. Then get rest.
Day 02: Camping Site-Summit-Basecamp-Surabaya
-At 2 am wake up. Have tea/coffee and black forest.
-At 2.30am start trekking for 2-3 hours.
-After sunrise back to the camp site to have breakfast. On the way visit two temples: Kama and Guru
-At 9am trekking down. On the way you will visit some temples: Sinta Gentong,Pura,Putri,Bayi and The holy pool of Jolotundo where you can have shower direct from the water fountains. Jolotundo is a bathing place was built by King Udayana to commemorate the birth of his son, Airlangga. The water is believed having virtues including cleaning our body and soul,healing from the illness,make us forever young. Scientifically the water has been proven as one of the best water quality in the world.
-Lunch is provided at basecamp in Mbiting village.
-Drive back to Surabaya. ETA Surabaya: 17.00
