BADA VALLEY MEGALITHIC-LORE LINDU JUNGLE TREKKING

OVERVIEW:
This tour will also take you to go deeper to the emerald lush jungle of Lore Lindu National Park. You will be staying in Bada Valley in a simple accommodation to be more convenient to explore the valley meet locals and as well experience of living in the remote tranquil outskirt of Lore Lindu National Park. Shall you need any adjustment, please contact us if you would like to combine Bada Valley Site with other destination in Sulawesi such as Tana Toraja, Togean Island, Tambling Lake and Bird Watching. Accommodations in Bada Valley are basic, let us know if you would like to stay in Tentena instead, as Tentena has more accommodations available especially along Lake Poso. This trip is driver only tour and in Bada Valley you will be accompanied by local guide. Local guide speaks basic English, however they often accompany overseas travelers exploring.
HIGHLIGHT : PALINDO MEGALITHIC SITE-BETA’UA WATERFALL-ALIEN MEGALITH-TOMIHIPI VILLAGE-BARKCLOTH MAKING
ITINERARY :
DAY 1 : PALU-TENTENA-BADA VALLEY (LUNCH/DINNER)
Upon arrival Palu Airport, you will be picked up by driver. And then drive about 9-11 hours to Bada Valley. Along the way you will be passing villages and some small cities, and cocoa plantations. Arrival at Tentena, proceed to Bada Valley through the forest, with some steep and bumpy road. Lunch will be at local restaurants enroute.
STAY : EKO BAMBOO HOMESTAY BADA VALLEY
DAY 2 : BADA VALLEY TOUR (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
Today you will be exploring Bada Valley. Breakfast ready at 06.00. Depart at 07.00 from the homestay by motorbike as it to some important megalithic sites and some hidden sites only known by locals. Motorbike will make better vehicles through small path and rice field, fish-lotus pond and cocoa plantations area, yet if you still love walking, some site will only be accessed by walking.
-PALINDO/MOLINDO MEGALITHIC SITE: This megalithic statue is the icon of Central Sulawesi as the land of thousand megalithic. Palindo literally means entertainer, in local language and it is the biggest megalithic statue discovered in the region.
-BETA’UA WATERFALL: is a 10 meters high waterfall, which can be reached by walking approximately 50 minutes only from the parking area. The waterfall has natural pool that you can enjoy swimming.
-SUSO MEGALITH: This site has statues and as well some big Kalamba which are situated scattered in the area. Kalamba is known a big stone bowl to place bones of dead bodies after it was buried somewhere else for years. Some people also said that some Kalamba are used as water container. This site can be reached by following the paved walking path.
-ALIEN HEAD-LIKE MEGALITH: You will be dropped as close as possible at the rice field. And then walk about 15 minutes through the rice field. This megalith does look like a gigantic head of alien. On its head is decorated by carving and holes which are estimated as the mean to calculate seasons and astronomy.
-LOGA MEGALITH: A megalith statue situated on a hill.
-MANITU MEGALITH: This Megalith site is similar like palindo and situated in the middle of rice field situated not far from the village road.
-SLEEPING MEGALITH: To reach this megalith statue, one must walk through cocoa plantation for about 10 minutes.
Afterwards return to homestay for lunch and check out.
-KAGEROA VILLAGE, to see the making of local snacks made out of cocoa fruits.
-TOMEHIPI VILLAGE: Here you will visit hanging bridge, hot spring and traditional house which is called Tambi.
-LENGEKA VILLAGE BARKCLOTH PROCESS, you will be visiting women in Bada valley making ranta which has been practiced since the prehistoric period. In the past locals wear bark cloth textile as outfit and also head piece.
STAY : EKO BAMBOO HOMESTAY BADA VALLEY
DAY 3 : LORE LINDU JUNGLE TREKKING-LAKE POSO (BREAKFAST/LUNCH/DINNER)
Breakfast at 07.00. AT 08.00 start from homestay walk to the Jungle of Lore Lindu National Park. You will be walking through the tall trees sometimes you can spot wildlife such as birds and other mammals. You will see where Leda (Eucalyptus deglupta) which is native to Sulawesi Island. About noon, arrival back to Homestay and check out. Drive 2 hours to bank of Lake Poso.
STAY : BALI COTTAGE
DAY 4 : LAKE POSO- PALU (BREAKFAST/LUNCH)
After breakfast and enjoy the view of Lake Poso and then check out. Long drive back to Palu City which takes about 8 hours. If still have time visit the PEACE GONG which symbolizes the tolerance among religions and from here you can also enjoy the view of Palu Bay. ETA PALU : 18.00. End of service.

BADA VALLEY : You will stay in simple guesthouse. Bathroom is outside. Bring your toiletries and towel.
TENTENA : Hotels and bungalow resorts are available in the city

-Trekking shoes or water friendly footwear as some paths are sometimes wet due to rainy season
-Wear long pants and socks to avoid sharp grass hurt your leg skin

-Raincoat especially on rainy season as it takes walking and you will be riding motorbike to the places in Bada Valley
