Due to the location of islands in Komodo National Park, most of the tours to see the dragon is best to be enjoyed by staying one night on boat. Boat ride to Rinca or Komodo Island is at least 3 hours sailing that if you stay overnight on boat will be time efficient and cost effective. You can explore more and not rushing from one place to another.
